When I was living in the suburbs of Chicago I traveled about 30 minutes to get my hair highlighted or cut. The stylist was referred to me by a friend. I was in love. She was very hard to get an appointment with and was so successful, she saved enough money to buy her own salon. However, it made it a 45 minute trip. I still did it! The trust was too good to lose. She highlighted my hair for my wedding. My hubby and I got married in Lake Tahoe. While in California, I made an appointment with a salon to do my hair for the ceremony. The girls in the salon were gushing over my highlights. Now that’s what I’m talking about! Every woman wants when she goes to the salon and forks over cash, gushing, jealous stylists!
When I got to Manitowoc, I had such a time with searching for the one! I felt like I was salon/stylist dating. After making an appointment, showing up not knowing what to expect. The awkward silence or polite idle conversation. Only to be left with a feeling of uncertainty and stuck with the bill.
When I finally met Colleen of Essence of Style. I will never forget my first appointment. She highlighted me with a reddish copper that was stunning. I was in love again. She is very personable and talented. I am pretty open to trying new things giving her freedom to do whatever she feels like. She hasn’t let me down at all, and frankly she never will. It’s not in her, she is a professional – hip with the styles of hair now and trends to come in the future. Colleen has been my stylist for almost two years. Today she reminded me of how much talent she has, by highlighting me with the copper again. I think this is my favorite color.
If Colleen ever contemplates moving across town, it’s a-ok with me, because in Manitowoc it only adds ten minutes to my drive! I will follow her wherever because I have found my one true love (of a stylist).
